A Letter to My Sister

IMG_20150519_165211013_HDR

Dear Sister,

I cannot remember the last time that I saw you smile, nor the happiness that you felt because of me. Maybe it never was. But, I would like to think that in some way my life mattered to you even if it doesn’t any longer. If we should never meet again, it will not be because I gave up on you. I have never abandoned you, and if you still care for me I will accept you into my life once again with open arms. But, it will not be at the cost of losing myself again. Our love for each other should never be a compromise, a give and take, of what we will allow or deny from the other.

Sincerely, The Open Closet
